The D810 in Action: Landscape

Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Hisao Asano worked at a photo studio before establishing his own company, M-Photoworks, in 2006. He specializes in travel and landscape photographs, taken in the course of his trips around Hokkaido and other parts of Japan. He is a member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS) and the Japan Travel Photographers Association (JTPA).

Clarity, which was newly added to the Picture Control system from the D810, plays a role similar to selecting a film in the era of silver halide photos. To reproduce the light color of the cherry blossoms as I actually saw it, I set White Balance to Direct sunlight mode and Picture Control to Portrait. The soft image was creating by adjusting the Clarity level to -5. The sense of softness was maximized by taking advantage of the beautiful bokeh and sharpness rendered by the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED and its exclusive Nano Crystal Coat technology.
