If you suspect that dirt or dust on the image sensor is appearing in photographs, you can clean the sensor using the Clean image sensor option in the setup menu.
1 Position the camera base down.
So that image sensor cleaning has the maximum possible effect, hold the camera base down as shown in the illustration.
2 Select Clean image sensor > Clean now.
Select Clean image sensor in the setup menu, then highlight Clean now and press to begin image sensor cleaning. While cleaning is in progress, will flash in the control panel and no other operations can be performed. Do not remove or disconnect the power source until cleaning ends and the setup menu is displayed.
